In a significant development, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has introduced a revolutionary policy that grants students in class 10th and 12th the flexibility to appear for their Board exam twice a year, starting from the academic session 2025-26.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan introduced a new plan called PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) in Chhattisgarh on Monday Feb 19. This plan will improve 211 schools in Chhattisgarh. During the event, Minister Pradhan mentioned that starting from the school year 2025-26, students will have the choice to take their 10th and 12th class Board exam twice a year.

New Curriculum Framework (NCF): Empowering Students with More Opportunities to Excel

The initiative is guided by the New Curriculum Framework (NCF), unveiled by the Ministry of Education in August 2023. Under this framework, board examinations will be held at least twice a year, providing students with increased opportunities to showcase their academic prowess and minimizing the pressure associated with exams.

During a recent function, Minister Pradhan connected the initiative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision outlined in the NEP.
